Axel Zagler-Luna, MD

Dr. Zagler was born and raised in Mexico City, where he attended medical school graduating with the highest honors from Universidad Anahuac, one of the most prestigious medical schools in The Country. He completed his internship, internal medicine residency, cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Fl. While in training he co-authored research papers that have been published in leading medical journals, and completed the Clinical Effectiveness Program at The Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Zagler has always been interested in the practice of evidence-based medicine. After his training, he stayed at Mount Sinai where he was an attending physician. In addition to his private practice, he was actively involved in teaching residents and cardiology fellows. He has been in private practice in Las Cruces, NM since 2007. Dr. Zagler is Board Certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine in the following specialties: Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease , and Interventional Cardiology. In addition he has board certifications from The National Board of Echocardiography. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, grilling and photography. He has also completed several triathlon races, the lodges one being a half-ironman (70.3).
